1-30-26 Update: PCB Review Passed & Final Prototypes Underway

We’re continuing to build momentum and make tangible progress across firmware, PCB, and enclosure development. The team completed major internal reviews and moved several items into their final stages.

1. Firmware (Milestone 2 – GUI Focus)

Firmware work is currently in Milestone 2, with a strong focus on the GUI.

Work on this milestone started a few days later than planned because Phase 1 extended slightly. This revision has been reviewed and approved so expectations are aligned across the team.

2. PCB & Electronics Progress

We had a successful internal PCB review this morning, and the board passed all checks.

All other layout and routing is complete. The final connector header and NFC antenna routing are being wrapped up now.

The PCB package is essentially ready and will move toward vendor quoting.

3. Mechanical / Enclosure Development

Enclosure work is actively progressing and expected to wrap up shortly.

At this stage:

The focus is on fit and alignment with the finalized PCB
No major redesigns are planned
Refinements are minor and detail-oriented

This keeps the mechanical side aligned with the electronics without introducing new variables.

4. Prototyping & Vendor Quotes

Typical expectations:

PCB vendors involve some back-and-forth
Enclosure and keyboard quotes are usually faster

The goal is to have prototype quotes in the next two weeks.

We’re moving into the stage where designs turn into physical prototypes, which is always an exciting step. As quotes and prototype builds progress, we’ll be able to share more visuals and real-world progress.
